Multi-State Bike Ride for Philanthropy…

Takes off from the Springs  *  Tour de Ted, a multi-state bike ride organized by financial advisory firm Edward Jones begins Sept. 23 in Colorado Springs.

Jim Weddle, managing partner of Edward Jones, along with more than 80 other local riders and financial advisers, will ride 33 miles to support cancer research.

Sunday kicks off the first of 13 stages, taking riders through Colorado to conclude in St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 6.

The bike tour celebrates the life of the firm’s second managing partner, Ted Jones, and commemorates his vision of serving clients in local communities.

The route traces the path of a telegraph wire that stretched from Colorado to St. Louis in the early days of the firm, which was established in 1922.

The event’s focus is to raise funds for cancer research, the disease that claimed Ted Jones’ life more than 20 years ago.

“Tour de Ted – Ride the Wire” is a fitting celebration of Ted’s generous spirit and his love of the outdoors,” Weddle said.
